In keeping with the University of Illinois’ sustainability goals, all unclaimed bikes left on campus will be donated to The Bike Project, a student organization dedicated to repairing and reusing bicycles. Partnering with The Bike Project gives the Parking Department the opportunity to work directly with students in the effort to maintain the aesthetic quality of campus as well as promote the advantages of recycling and bicycling.

Parking will be sending out letters to all registered University bike users asking that any bikes left on campus be claimed by the owner. All bikes not claimed within 30 days of the notice will be donated to The Bike Project to be refurbished and sold to community members to reuse.
